Footastic!

I really don't know where to begin, but the Foo Fighters show was the best thing I've ever seen in my life.  Well as far as arena rock concerts go.  The show even started out really good. I was a fan of Against Me! since I bought Searching For A Former Clarity and then I bought New Wave when it first came out.  They're pretty good live.  A M! be even better live if I were to see them in a smaller venue.  Then Serj came on and that guy is pretty much completely insane.  They came out in top hats.  Foo Fighters were completely amazing. They played for like 2 hours. Played about 12 songs during the main part of the show and then another 3 or 4 songs during the encore.  I'm not good at explaining what happened.  If you're a Foo fan or just even like good rock and roll music you should be jealous of me or should go out and see them when they come through your town on either this tour or their next one.  Those guys are complete beasts when it comes to how they play.  There was the main stage and then a cat walk type thing that Dave kept running up and down during the show. Then in the middle after Taylor Hawkins kick ass drum solo a small round stage came down from the ceiling and the band played acoustic for a good portion of the rest of the night.  The newest addition, their violinist Jessie(y) is from MPLS so there was an ovation for her.  She's a pretty thing.  Pretty voice too.  My fingers are cramping up so I'm going to end this neat little blog.  The next concert blog you'll get will be after Warped Tour which doesn't come through here until early August this year.  I don't have anything else to look forward to until then.

Annual Warped Tour Blog

Every year since I've been going to The Vans Warped Tour I have blogged about it.  Here is my entry from this years show which I have copied from my MySpace blog.

So I'm really tired and burnt from the sun so if any of this doesn't make sense there's my explanation.  Another successful Vans Warped Tour has come and gone for me.  I have taken many pictures of the event, but I am not going to upload any of them until tomorrow.  I don't think a lot of them turned out very well since I couldn't really get a good enough view of the bands I watched.  My day started out listening to a few songs from Afilio who are from the wonderful town of Bemidji here in the lovely Minnesota.  I took 2 pictures of them.  The second band I witnessed was Chiodos and that was oh so great.  They were my favorite band, but now they really are my favorite band.  Such a great live show even though I couldn't really see much of their performance.  I ended up taking a good 3 pack..probably more, pictures of them.  After this point I'm not quite sure what the order is of the other bands I saw for the rest of the day.  I saw The Matches and they always put on such a neat live show.  I took a few pictures of them.  When I was watching this one band I didn't know who they were or I would have been taking pictures of them, but it was Kaddisfly.  They were quite enjoyable to see even though I didn't know I was listening to Kaddisfly.  Prior to that I have heard a few songs of theirs I just didn't know I was watching them.  Oh well, I'm sure they'll forgive me.  I saw So They Say and they were very good.  I knew I was watching them from the beginning.  I have Antidote for Irony, which is their CD so I knew all of the songs they were playing.  Except for their newest song which is going to be on their newest album that comes out in October.  I did not expect them to play like they did.  It was very entertaining. I took 6 or so pics of that performance.  I was going to buy a shirt from STS because we walked by their merch tent and the singer was sitting in there, but I didn't want to bother him.  I know I should have gotten a shirt, but I didn't and I am a bit upset about that, but there will be other performances. Ended up missing the first half of NFGs set because the times were mixed up on the board or I ended up writing the wrong time.  We were standing off to the side, but it was the best view I have ever seen of NFG, at least at Warped.  Also there was Craig from Chiodos' side project Cinematic Sunrise and we listened to a few of their songs.  I just love them.  Both Chiodos and CinSun..totally fun.  CinSun is a bit more calm than Chiodos, but still very good.  Now after this point everything seems to be a blur...Oh wait there's one more band aside from Coheed and Cambria who we saw last.  I couldn't see much of them, but I was listening and took 2 pics of that.  Monty Are I...they were sooo good.  I totally loved every second of their performance.  They were supposed to go on at 4:30, but they were having some issues with their sound so they started playing at about 4:40.  Soooo good.  Probably my favorite band of the day.  I took a good 12 pack of pictures of them.  I also took a sign that said what time they were playing, but it's not a big deal.  It's black and white and has their picture on it, but I felt like a badass when I ripped it down.  Hehe..go me!  So like I said I have been through another successful Warped Tour, only I didn't throw up before I went. Yay me!

Later ! ! !
